John Roscoe's Graphic Design Portfolio

some of my favorite work from the last couple of years

The challenge was to create a packaging solution for the 21st century: find a way to protect the contents from ischemic damage (exposure to air) and from kinetic damage (handling in shipping & shelving). My solution uses a single sheet of food-grade polyethylene rendered stress-bearing and food-preserving through the application of pneumatic contrast. The blue cylenders represent areas of negative pressure (which keeps the crackers fresh) while the thin, green cylenders are positive-pressure (which keeps the crackers unbroken).

This kind of pneumatic contrast is, so far as I know, a new idea for food packaging.
